I tied to delete a managed endpoint in Vyopta, and it keeps on returning the next day. Is there a way to keep a deleted endpoint from not coming back?
The short answer to this question is Yes, but it depends on if the endpoint is externally managed by TMS or CUCM.
The easiest way to determine if the endpoint is being managed externally, is to log into https://apps.vyopta.com and navigate to Admin| Endpoints
In the endpoint screen, search for the endpoint, and then click on the to edit the endpoint and see the details.
If you look at the External ID field, you might see an external ID set up for the endpoint. The prefix for the ID will start with tmsid: or a cucmid:. In the example below, this endpoint is registered to TMS.
The reason why the endpoint keeps returning (in the above example), is that the endpoint is still registered with TMS, so every time our nightly process is completed, the processing will notice the endpoint is missing in Vyopta, but registered with TMS, so we will automatically recreate the endpoint.
If you don't want to have the endpoint come back into Vyopta, you will need to update TMS (or CUCM if its a CUCM ID) and remove the device from the monitored group back to the available group
More details on the TMS groups are available here
If there is no external ID registered to the endpoint, or if the endpoint is not being monitored by CUCM or TMS, and the endpoint continues to be recreated, please open a ticket by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to assist in resolving your issue
